Since I cut and sell wood for Rustic Woodworking I can pick and choose the best wood for jewelry. It might be a beautiful spalted birch slice, or just the right wood grain that look like veins of a leaf. I grab 'em, cut them down to size, and offer them to you to make something. I am not going to put any oil on them, sand them, drill any holes, or anything else. Completely raw wood. If you have sandpaper, you can shape it as you want. If you have any rotary tool, like a Dremel, you can get the job done quickly, and then hand polish with a high grit sandpaper so it is smooth. Stain or dye to suit your needs. Apply wax or a varnish to seal the wood. I will be selling these in packages of 5 to 10 pieces. I am not going to take a photo of every individual piece. Please be sure to come back later to check out what I have posted. www.rusticbeads.com I hope to have some instructions and possibly a YouTube video on what you can do with these little wood blanks. Check back in a few months. That will be a winter-time project. These wood blanks are thick enough so you can use your Dremel and shape them. Or you can do it by hand. Make it look however you want, or just keep it flat. It is totally up to you. You can either drill a hole to make a pendant, or use a little eye screw. For sure you will have your own one-of-a-kind, hand-made component using these unique little wood parts.

Beads are my favorite but I did not know much about rustic beads. I found the article new and really quite interesting, too.
